Hi — I’m Michele

My name is Michele, and I'm the proud owner of MEOW! at the Lake, a professional in-home cat sitting service exclusively for our feline friends in Lake Monticello and the surrounding areas.

My husband and I have called Lake Monticello home for the past 22 years, though we've been part of the Fluvanna County community since 1990. We chose this area to raise our family, and it's truly where our hearts are. Our son, now grown and married, also considers Lake Monticello his forever home.

My husband, Darrell, is a retired elementary school music teacher who spent many years inspiring young minds at Central Elementary School. As for me, I come from a background in retail management, having previously worked as the store manager at Justice in Fashion Square Mall. When the pandemic led to the store's closure, I decided to pursue a path that aligned with my lifelong love for animals—especially cats.

Together, Darrell and I share our home with 7 beloved cats. Our home is always full of purrs, personality, and playtime, and I bring that same love and attention to every cat I care for through MEOW! at the Lake.

W're thrilled to be celebrating five years of MEOW! at the Lake! What began as a passion project born from an unexpected life change has grown into a trusted service that our Lake Monticello community has embraced wholeheartedly. I'm so grateful to every cat family who has welcomed me into their home over the years.
